Over the years I've experimented with vege juice recipes in order to come up with one which has a great taste and has all the ingredients to boost energy levels, boost the immune system, & to protect joints (particularly one's knees) from injury while running. Here's what I came up with...
Using a juicer process the following:
- 1 large silver-beet leaf, green part only
- 1 small beetroot
- 2.5 cm ginger root
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 small lemon, skin off
- 2 sticks celery [this is an important ingredient as it lubricates joints]
- 2 small apples
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 Lebanese cucumber or other variety cut to the same size
- 4 medium carrots, topped & tailed--I add extra carrots as required to fill the juice jug
