Runner's Brew

One glass & you will feel different--more energy, more awake, clearer head--in just 15 minutes!

Over the years I've experimented with vege juice recipes in order to come up with one which has a great taste and has all the ingredients to boost energy levels, boost the immune system, & to protect joints (particularly one's knees) from injury while running. Here's what I came up with...

Using a juicer process the following:
  • 1 large silver-beet leaf, green part only
  • 1 small beetroot
  • 2.5 cm ginger root
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small lemon, skin off
  • 2 sticks celery [this is an important ingredient as it lubricates joints]
  • 2 small apples
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber or other variety cut to the same size
  • 4 medium carrots, topped & tailed--I add extra carrots as required to fill the juice jug
Makes ~1 litre--store any you don't drink right away in a sealed container in the fridge.
